As a practicing HR Professional for almost 20 years, I have interviewed more than 10,000 job candidates ranging from entry jobs to executive positions. One very important thing that I learned in the process is that those who usually gets the job are NOT the most competent, talented, experienced, and educated but rather the candidates who are emotionally intelligent, highly motivated, and who display a positive attitude.

Indeed! The most successful companies these days do not usually comprise the best talents in their industry, but rather having the right people doing the right thing. You associate Steve Jobs with iPod, iPhone, iPad, and iMac but you tend to forget that behind those great products, there are teams of young professionals who are making things happen.

These people and the organization who took them in their fold, all made smart career choices. The former chose the right company, while the latter picked the right talent for the right job. More often, career and organizational success is about pursuing what you are passionate about or being passionate about what you are currently pursuing. It is a career choice!
