In a job interview, you may be up against nine competitors. Be ready to state your focus more clearly than your nine rivals. Know your focus or get beaten by the competition who knows theirs. ~ Alan Fox quotes
Frankly, with the plethora of job interview tips, advises, and tactics you can get, blunders can still happen. More often, these blunders are poignant because they could have been avoided if you took the time to look at some of these obvious specks:
Lack of Focus or None at all
Your goal is to get the job offer! None else. Otherwise, don’t waste your time coming for a job interview where you are just toying the idea that you might get the job. Get the job, that’s your focus. Because if not, the other guy will get the offer by default.
When you arrive at the place of interview, take the time to look at yourself in a mirror. Take the restroom and freshen up yourself. Hair, make-up (ladies, I know you don’t need this reminder), your teeth ( Yeah, I meant those teeth folks. Because, you will be doing most of the talking during the interview, and you’d better have clean and beautiful set of teeth.) and your dress/clothing. Good grooming is actually a battle half won in job interviewing so give this your due attention.
Failing to do research about the company
This means you are not interested in joining the organization. Otherwise, you would have taken the time to ask some people or at least googled about the company. It is an added advantage if you know about the company, its business, and who’s running the operation.
