I did. Once.
I spent five years of my professional life in Sales and Marketing. Those fruitful years gave me the experience to hone my leadership and negotiation skills, and the ability to handle work pressures and demands, especially in meeting sales quotas and targets.
But, what I really enjoyed in those 5 years was the opportunity to travel more often.
I was handling huge accounts that entail me to visit branches domestically and abroad. Hence, I never really had the chance to build my own nest for over 5 years. Why should I, anyway? I rarely stay more than a week in my rented apartment because of the nature of my work.
When I quit that job and took an assignment that entails me to stay more on the office, I started deepening my roots in so far as the place where I want to stay permanently. So, I did.
However, as they say “nothing is permanent”. After completing my house mortgage for almost 10 years, I was obliged to move to another place because of a bigger role and a very generous compensation package, something that I really do not want to pass on.
